Promotion Sunday Gift Guides!

Promotion Sunday is always bittersweet. Whether you’ve seen kids grow physically over the years or spiritually over the past few weeks, it is always both sad and exciting to send them off into the world of student ministry. Promotion Sunday seems to always land in a tricky season and often times get’s set on the back burner. It may not seem like a big deal to you as the ministry leader, but I assure you, it is a big deal to those kids and parents.

If you haven’t read our blog, 3 P’s to Promotion Sunday, I encouraged you to stop and read that first! It is full of helpful tips and tricks to make this transition smooth for parents, kids, and volunteers. Another great resource is our Do’s & Don’ts of Promotion Sunday podcast episode.

Another piece of Promotion Sunday is celebrating! When someone says celebration, we say gift, right? But what do you get a graduating 5th grader (or 4th or 6th)? It has to be intentional, but not cheesy. A very fine line—ha!

We are SO excited to bring you the…Promotion Sunday Gift Guide for 2024! We’ve come up with a handful of different ideas for you to celebrate your graduating kiddos with intentionality and a little humor. This gift guide was created with 4th, 5th, & 6th graders in mind.

Oh—and as a bonus! We’ve added a few gift ideas for your graduating preschoolers heading into Kindergarten!

Surprises and gifts are meant to be fun and those big kids don’t always find fun in a new Bible or new devotional. Here are some of my favorite unique gifts to give!

  1. Jesus Socks

  2. Youth Ministry Swag
If you don’t have shirts already made, check this company out—they can help you print some awesome youth min swag.

  3. Pop Fidget Key Chain

  4. Pens

  5. Gift cards
Starbucks & Amazon are definitely the most popular. Don’t forget to think local!

  6. Journal

Devotionals and Bibles are a great gift for your graduating kids. It is a way to celebrate all they have learned and equip them to keep learning. Don’t forget to pass this list along to the parents if they wanted to add to their kids’ bookshelves.

Don’t forget about your little graduates! I love these gifts because they are designed with the entire family in mind.
