2022 Volunteer Gift Guides!

The never ending question around the Christmas season is, “What do I get my volunteers for Christmas?” T-shirts and mugs are typical go-to gift ideas, but most volunteers have enough t-shirts and mugs to last a lifetime! It is challenging to think outside the box, stay in budget, and provide something that is meaningful and won’t end up in the trash in the new year.

Introducing…the Volunteer Gift Guides for 2022! This year, we focused on 3 categories:

The Teen Volunteers

Not Your Typical Customizable Gifts

Volunteer Celebration Event

Our team worked to think outside the box and add some intentionality (& maybe some humor) behind these gift choices. We hope these ideas takes some stress out of appreciating your team—celebrating your people should be fun!

Simple is the name of the game. Most teens will LOVE a gift card to Starbucks or Amazon—boring!. Yes, gift cards are included in the gift guide, but try to think about what you can add to the gift to add that personal touch!

  1. Socks socks are very in right now—and the best part is that these socks can be customized. Add your logo or better yet, the youth pastors face! Tie on a gift card and you’ve got a great gift!

  2. Chapstick/Lipgloss This is another easy add on gift to a gift card or a t-shirt. Tie it on top and it is so cute!

  3. Gift cards Starbucks & Amazon are definitely the most popular. If you can, think about a local coffee shop or ice cream shop that you can support in your gift-buying endeavor!

  4. Fanny Pack These are ALL the rage right now. This would be the perfect gift and if you want to be a little extra…iron on a cute patch or logo.

  5. Book & Journal If you want your gift to be more faith-focused, this book comes highly recommended for the teen age and you can’t go wrong with a great journal! **Ask your youth min team if they recommend a book or study.

No one needs another t-shirt or coffee mug—it’s true! Now if you’ve never gifted a coffee mug, go for it! Most of the time that has already been done. Here are some customizable gifts that are unique,
ranging in price, and very intentional!

  1. Earrings: These earrings support a great cause and have so many colors, you can find one that matches kids min logo!

  2. Game Day Chair: Everyone needs one of these! You can add your logo and these make a very practical gift for both men & women.

  3. Memory Verse Calendar: This would make a great gift at the start of a new year. Create the calendar with that months memory verse so your team can see it every day & memorize it!

  4. Key Chains: Another practical & fun gift! You can customize the color and what it says—plus you are supporting a small business.

  5. Hats: Definitely a good gift for all volunteers. This company sells high quality hats that can be customized with your logo or name!

If you don’t have the budget or plan to do individual gifts, think about gathering your people together for a night of community, fun, and appreciation!

  1. Bowling Night Rent out some lanes and play together. Add an extra step and hand out the silliest socks you can find. THESE are my favorite!

  2. Night at the Movies Use your auditorium or rent out a movie theater to have a night at the movies. Make it extra special and hand out appreciation awards and yummy treats. Want to gift your families with a movie night at home? This popcorn popper is the best! Add some candy and a apple or amazon gift card and you’ve got the makings for a great family night at home.

  3. Sporting Event Have a minor league team near you? Custom design these cooler bags and head to a baseball game as a team!

  4. Ice Cream Social Looking to do something on a Sunday after church? Have an ice cream party! As an added touch, invite your staff to serve your volunteers.
